  3. Resistors • A resistor is an electrical component that limits or regulates the flow of electrical current in an electronic circuit. Resistors can also be used to provide a specific voltage for an active device such as a transistor. • How to know value of resistor ?! • From the known table of colours.

  4. Variable resistors (pot)

  5. Capacitors • A capacitor is an electronic component that stores energy in the form of an electrostatic field. Used for: • Smoothing and filtering • Storing energy

  8. Transistors • Use as amplifier and switch.

  12. LDR • LDRs or Light Dependent Resistors are very useful especially in light/dark sensor circuits. Normally the resistance of an LDR is very high, sometimes as high as 1000 000 ohms, but when they are illuminated with light resistance drops dramatically.

  18. Regulators • A dc power supply is an essential component in any electronic system . • Constant voltage regulator 780x , 790x. • Variable voltage regulator (lm317,lm117,lm318,lm150,lm138).
