What is resilience? “The ability of a social or ecological system to absorb disturbances while retaining the same basic structure and ways of functioning, the capacity for self-organisation, and the capacity to adapt to stress and change” (IPCC, 2008) …the capacity to cope with change and re-build when necessary

  3. What kind of resilience is important? …the capacity to cope with change and to sustain transformations needed to reduce poverty under global change But what is resilience in practice?
