In 2008 the Tewksbury Fire Department purchased its first “technical rescue trailer” . This equipment will allow the Department to perform rescues in such disciplines as confined space rescue, high and low angle rescue as well as trench rescue.

In 2008 the Tewksbury Fire Department purchased its first “technical rescue trailer” . This equipment will allow the Department to perform rescues in such disciplines as confined space rescue, high and low angle rescue as well as trench rescue.
With the extensive sewer project In town, Tewksbury Fire Department has trained twenty two of its members as certified “trench rescue technicians” the Department has also purchased the equipment to support the team.
April 9,2009 the Tewksbury Fire Department with the help of the Massachusetts Fire Academy spent the day educating its members in flashover recognition with live fire evolutions.

MEMBERS OF THE TEWKSBURY AND ANDOVER FIRE DEPARTMENTS TRAIN IN CONFINED SPACE RESCUE AT THE CALIFORNIA PAINTS FACILITY ON DASCOMB RD.
TEWKSBURY FIREFIGHTERS TRAIN AS PART OF A MULTY AGENCY BIO-HAZARD DRILL, AT SAINTS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. OTHER AGENCYS INCLUDED BOTH LOWELL AND BILLERICA FIREDEPARTMENTS AS WELL AS PARAMEDICS.
MASSACHUSETTS STATE POLICE AIRWING AND TEWKSBURY FIRE DEPARTMENT PRACTICE TAKEOFF AND LANDING SAFETY PROCEDURES.
TEWKSBURY FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNAL PARTICIPATED IN THEIR SECOND THREE DAY COURSE IN TRENCH RESCUE. THIS ALLOWS THEM TO MAINTAIN THEIR TECHNICIAN STATUS AND ALLOWS THE DEPARTMENT TO RESPOND TO SURROUNDING COMMUINTIES AS PART OF THE MUTUAL AID AGREMENT
