What is Biomass • Biomass is biological material from living or recently living organisms. • Biomass for energy this is often used to mean plant based material. • It can also be created by both animal and vegetable died material.
How it Works • It is living or dead organisms plant that are burned to make energy thought out the house. • The wood is burned to make steam and the steam turns a turbine and goes to a generator.
Advantages • That biomass reduces our emissions of heat trapping gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. • That biomass is easy to find a get if it is needed. • It can also be used as the same as coal.
Disadvantages • Agricultural waste will not be available it the crop is no longer growing. • That we can harvest it at an unsustainable rates, damage ecosystems, produce farm air pollution, consume large amount of water.
Active Solar • That is will be used for be using heating the water for the house.
Lighting • The house will have CFL lighting for the outside lights and for the inside lighting
Composter • The house will use the composter to be house for the plants that will be planted around the house
Rain Barrels • That this will help the house by collecting the water to be used for bathing, washing dishes, drinking, and cleaning.
Earth Sheltered • That structure of the house will be made with the product called earth shelter. That means that the house will be covered by the earths first lair.
