Good enough given our expanding audience? Expanding to 3 million with social care Public health practitioners Care workers GPs Hospital doctors Pharmacists Social workers Nurses AHP Community nurses Service managers Commissioners
And our intent to serve the wider public But we must also be relevant and accessible to the public – 55 million Public health practitioners Care workers GPs Hospital doctors Patients / Public Pharmacists Social workers Nurses AHP Community nurses Service managers Commissioners
Dissemination challenge for NICE Growing target audience base Growing portfolio of products Changing user expectations Fragmentation of channels and platforms
What are we doing about it? Can you spot the errors? • Be more efficient at producing content - re-usable, semantically rich, produced once to use many time • Partner with external organisations to build implementation tools – audit tools, costing tool, education aids etc… • Heavily advertise NICE to our new segments – journal campaigns, attend all key national conferences • Build a responsive, more interactive, customer centric website • Build more a new app for each of our audiences • Invest in SEO to allow more audience to find our recommendations • Recruit 20 more ‘field team’ to cover new segments • Use third party services and platforms to disseminate our content
Introducing syndication • Provides content in superior digital formats suitable for integration and presentation purposes • Allows organisations to embed NICE content within their own systems allowing new distribution channels to be opened • Formalises and controls distribution of NICE Content through a quality assured service
How does it work? Programmatic access to NICE content…
A give and take relationship… Not like this NICE
A give and take relationship… More like this. A virtuous circle where both parties benefit
Who we would like to work with Public sector partners wishing to embed NICE content and services into their services e.g. PHE / SCIE Local health and care organisations seeking to present NICE guidance alongside complementary local guidance and advice Large publishers – sharing our content alongside other well used resources Small and medium size companies developing new targeted solutions for specific audiences System integrators in GP practices and hospital system
