  9. General Principles Graduate Program & REU • Strive to achieve a critical mass • Provide extra support where needed (especially prior to critical mass attainment) • Use ready-made forum of NSBP meeting • Recruit wisely • Diversify your publicity

Program was a positive experience Program met my expectations Project was worthwhile Would recommend program to a friend Mentor was satisfactory Mentor was available When not available, someone else was Would recommend mentor to a friend Safety training was worthwhile Poster training was informative and helpful Pig Pickin’ was a good event Negotiating the Graduate School Process was informative and helpful Welcoming Reception was well done Durham Bulls Game was a successful event GRE Prep course improved my scores REU staff was helpful and friendly I would consider NCSU for graduate school REU Exit Survey
