Segment Identification and Completeness Check: Objectives • Confirm Segments Affecting HCAs have been Identified (Required by 1/1/02) • Assure Baseline Assessment Plans and IM Frameworks have Essential Elements • Identify Potential Noteworthy Practices • Identify Issues with Company Programs to Support Prioritization of Comprehensive Inspections
Key Features • Complete All 66 Large Liquid Operators in 3 to 4 Months Starting January 2002 • Multiple Teams • Inspection Duration - Approximately 1-2 Days • OPS Inspectors Only, No State Support at this Stage
Inspection Scope • Operator Process for Identifying Segments • Review Small Sample of Analyses to Determine Segment Boundaries • Compare Location of Operator Segments to HCAs from NPMS • Perform Completeness Check on Baseline Assessment Plan and IM Framework.
Use of Results • Assess Operator Compliance with Segment ID Requirements • Support Ranking of Operators for Detailed Inspection of Framework and Baseline Assessment Plans • Identify Operator Locations where Detailed Inspections will Occur
