Cameras in the Courtroom • 1991-1994 Federal Courts experiment with allowing cameras in court. • Cameras are allowed in district courts at judge’s discretion. • Steven Brill goes for it after jurors tell him they were hooked by the trial.
Court TV • First Airs July 1, 1991 • Time Warner, Liberty Media and NBC • Original format airs only courtroom footage and some commentary. • “Journalist are probably the only people on the planet who make lawyers look good.”
