BALD TIRE SPOTS ON C 206 • March 2009 • Bald spots on both R and L tires reported • 6 crews had flown the month before the report of bald tires • 5 crews flew the AC after report of bald tires Who put the bald spots on the tires?? Tire Blowout Incident MAY 09 SAFETY BRIEFING JOSEPH R. PEREA, MD, MAJOR CAP WING DIRECTOR OF SAFETY • 1. April 2009, a NM Wing pilot in a C-206G with 2 passengers made a normal approach to RWY 3, E80 Belen Alexander Airport • 2. During the landing rollout, the right main tire was damaged by excessive braking, brake locking, causing complete rupture of the tire or “blowout” • No injuries
