In 2007, Armenian Women for Health and Healthy Environment NGO took action to address the risks posed by an obsolete pesticides burial site in Yerevan. With over 500 tons of pesticides, including persistent organochlorines, and located near villages on an active landslide, urgent measures were needed. The NGO engaged in advocacy, lobbying, and partnerships to raise awareness and implement solutions like fencing, drainage systems, and site visits. However, recent monitoring shows ongoing landslides and structural damage, emphasizing the need for a final resolution.
