Federal Regulations Example • The Clean Water Act (CWA) was enacted with the intent of maintaining the integrity of waters of the U.S. Presently, the EPA has CWA authority in Alaska, but the State may soon assume control of the program. • Section 402 of the CWA authorizes the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program. • Three Storm Water Discharge Permits (CGP)
