Engineering DesignGrade 12 How is this course different from grade 11? The construction is more difficult. There is less direct instruction. There are fewer worksheets. There is more opportunity to alter the course to suit your needs and interests.
Engineering Design is mainly .... a collection of facts a collection of theories a collection of skills something else .... what?
Mini-Contest #1 You have a set of 6 plastic cups. Your challenge is to stack them into a pyramid. You may not touch the cups directly. You will use an elastic band with four strings attached. You may only touch the loops at the end. You may not talk.
Types of Communication It took a while before the groups figured out how to work together. It was especially hard, because you weren’t allowed to talk. On the whiteboard, list the different ways that you can communicate in a group.

Experiences of past students I thought researcher was a useless job but throughout grade 12 I realized how important the job really is. The researcher saves so much valuable testing time. I initially dreaded the role of publicist. It is the exact opposite of the building and leading that I joined the course to do, but in the end it was the most rewarding. I have more enthusiasm for being a leader now because I have learnt how to recognize specific skills in people and make use of them. I am more confident voicing my opinions and making sure that other opinions are heard. I was surprised how much I liked being a draftsman and drawing diagrams. I was not someone who was very artistic. I remember being told that my drawings were good and I was pleasantly surprised.
