  2. Closing windows • There are two ways to closing windows. This presentation will teach you, How to: • Close one window • Close all windows

Closing one window • When you’re done viewing or editing any information displayed in window, you can close the window using a short and easy keyboard short cut. • To close a window, follow these steps • Looking at your keyboard: • There are two keys involved in closing one window. They are: • Command key • ‘w’ key The two keys are highlighted in the picture.

Closing one window (cont.) • As soon as you have located these keys, • Click on the window you would like to close and press all the keys together. • You have now closed a window using a handy keyboard shortcut! • Remember: If you are closing a piece of work that is not saved, there will be a small box at the top displaying: Click on the option you prefer. (This is just a screenshot in power point, but you can do it in any program)

  5. WELL DONE! You have finally learned to close one window with a smart keyboard shortcut!

  6. Closing all windows • REMEMBER: This shortcut is only for closing all windows of a certain program. It is NOT for closing all windows open on your computer. • LOCATING THE KEYS: 1) Command key (as you have seen before) 2) Option key 3) ‘w’ key

  7. Closing all windows (cont.) • As soon as you have located the keys- go to the program in which you would like to close all the windows. • Press the keys. • Bravo! You have successfully closed all the windows in your selected program! • REMEMBER: This shortcut does NOT shut the program. It only closes all the windows.
