Need for families: • The first grouping of humans into family units may have occurred because of a unique human characteristic- what do you think this is? • Our BRAIN’s- allow us to think, problem solve, communicate using language, invent, feel emotions • Babies are completely dependant for at least the first 5 years of their life- makes sense that we needed some kind of family grouping to provided extensive car, protection and socialization.
Hordes: • First family groupings- whether that be males and females and their offspring. • Overtime developing taboos against certain kinds of aggression and sexual activity • Ensuring peace, co-operation- system of social organization, food sharing, divisions of labour, long-term relationships of reciprocity and obligation WHY?
