Tornado Proof Houses • The plan was created on September 11-09-11 • Designed by 10 Design of Hong Kong • “The tornado-proof house coalesces by taking inspiration from a large underground cavern, a flower emerging from the ground, and a turtle with a survival mentality.” • This is just a plan from the company. Right now, the company is currently working on the prototype in collaboration with group of ship builders in the US and Africa.

  8. Tornado Proof Houses • Uses solar panels maximally • Skin composed of translucent insulation sandwiched between two layers of Kevlar • Weather tight barrier, super strong protection, translucent skin. • Sensors around the house monitors the weather

  9. Positive effects • People - Many people can be saved and be out of harm’s way • Society - The society can be safe in countries with tornadoes • Environment - Uses solar power

  10. Negative Effects • People -There is no negative effect • Society -Spend more money (society’s economy decreases) • Environment -Digging the ground might need to cut the trees

  11. Factors • Social: Societies can be safe in countries with tornadoes • Economic: Not wasting money on renovating the houses • Environmental: More lands will be used and occupied for the house.
