Who is Pantech? • Established in 2000 • Founding Vision: make superior quality, affordable rapid diagnostic products accessible to all. • Started supplying HIV rapid tests to the National Department of Health in 2002.
Pantech cont. • Established itself as a market leader in the supply of rapid diagnostic tests to the Public and Private Sectors in South Africa. • 2004: Formed relationship with SD (Standard Diagnostics) and been supplying the SD Bioline range of rapid diagnostic tests since then. • Pantech has supplied over 100 million HIV tests to the DOH and private sector since 2002.
Pantech Present • Through our good service and customer support, Pantech has established and maintained partnerships with key organisations in the HIV sector (to name a few): - SABCOHA - DOH - NACOSA - Africa Centre for HIV & Aids
VISION To advance health and improve quality of life by making innovative medical technology accessible to the people who need it the most.
The SD Bioline HIV test Simple to use One step (tri-line) test Fast result (10 mins) Sensitivity 100% Specificity 99.9% Pantech supports the supply of whole blood HIV tests Cost effective due to strong relationship with SD NICD evaluations
Why Pantech? Quality Supply the highest quality medical diagnostic products at affordable prices. Stringent Quality Control ensures consistent accuracy and reliability across our product range. This process starts with quality control measures at Standard Diagnostics in South Korea to the NICD evaluations done in South Africa.
Why Pantech? Quality Ongoing batch evaluations (post market surveillance) by the NICD confirms the consistent accuracy and reliability of the SD Bioline HIV tests. The SD Bioline HIV test is highly sensitive to the detection of HIV types 1 and 2 with the WHO having established an almost 100% sensitivity and specificity of these tests.
Why Pantech? Training Pantech’s ultimate aim is to ensure competent and confident test users in the field to minimise user error and therefore provides free onsite training to its customers on a nationwide basis. Rapid diagnostic tests are prone to user error as well as interpretation error hence the importance of regular training.
Why Pantech? Product availability One of our main objectives is to ensure that we meet demand at a higher than usual level. Our long standing relationship with SD has enabled Pantech to meet these demands of high volume supply. This has been evident in our consistent supply of SD Bioline HIV tests during the HCT campaign.
Conclusion • Teamwork & Collaboration are essential ingredients if we are to conquer HIV/AIDS and Infectious Diseases in Southern Africa. • It is for this reason that it is of the utmost importance that we create partnerships with organisations like SABCOHA.
