Accessing the Calendar Click on “Calendar” in the Course Tool column
Calendar Settings – Customize Calendar for Your Preferences
Calendar Settings – Entry Settings • Entry Settings • Student Entries – “Public” lets students post entries to course calendar that all can see • Default entry for instructor – Should be “public”. If “private”, only instructor can see entries.
Calendar Settings – Personal Settings, Preferred View • Select “Preferred View” (Month, Day, or Year) • Select “Starting day” for each week.
Calendar Settings – Week starts on … Week Set to begin on ‘Sunday’ Week Set to begin on ‘Monday’
Calendar Settings – Personal Settings, Custom View Specify which course calendar entries you want to show on this course’s calendar
Calendar Settings – Show Personal Entries Click ‘save’ after making your personalized selections
Printable View You can print a ‘consolidated’ calendar that reflects activity for all/selected courses.
Add Entry • Click on Add Entry (you will need to specify date desired in “Add Entry” screen • OR • Click on the date in the calendar
Add Entry – Top half of screen Click “All day event” unless there is a specific time slot involved (e.g., quiz opened from 8:00 to 12:00).
Add Entry – Bottom part of Screen: Entry Type Default: Current course and “Public”
Add Entry – Bottom part of Screen: Entry Type Entry type: Can place entry in any course, not just the course you are in. Specify type of entry in that course (public or private)
Add Entry – Bottom part of Screen: Entry Type: Internal Links Select the type of internal link you want and click on the green arrow
Add Entry – Bottom part of Screen: Entry Type: Internal Links • Select the item from the category to which you want to link • Click on “Add Selected”
