3. Male Parts of a Flower • Stamen: male reproductive organ of the flower. • Parts: • Filament: long stalk that supports the anther, connects to the base of the flower. • Anther: Pollen grains form at the tip of the stamen. • Pollen: Sperm of flower.

4. Female Parts of a Flower • Pistil: female reproductive organ of a flower. • Parts: • Stigma: tip of pistil. • Style: long tube • Ovary: base of style, holds eggs.

5. Plant Reproduction • Flowering plants reproduce through a process called Pollination. • Plants can self-pollinate OR cross-pollinate with one another, depending on the parts they have.

6. What is Pollination? • Pollination is when pollen (sperm) from the anther travels to the stigma of the pistil. • Pollen grains can travel by wind, gravity, water, bees or an animal to the stigma. • Pollen tube develops and the pollen grain travels down the style to fertilize the egg in the ovary. • The ovary will develop into a fruit with seeds or just develop into seeds. • The cycle repeats.
