Planning allows you to… 1. Create a vision: • Personal planning: If you’re clear on what you’re doing, it’s easier to get everyone else on the same page. • Organizational planning: Create a shared expectation of what will be accomplished. 2. Set goals: • Develop leaders (give roles) • Declare victories! • Develop a rationale for why things occurred the way they did
What is a plan? • Semester Plan (campaign plan) • Category Plan (for one tactic – expansion) • Personal Plan (weekly)
How To Plan 1. Make the planning grid. Create categories for major tactics and responsibilities, fixed dates, priorities, goals, and time allotments.
How To Plan 2. Put in Fixed Dates
How To Plan 3. Set your priorities for the plan. 4. Set solid goals for each category on your plan.
How To Plan 5. Work backwards from your goals to map out how you will achieve them. 6. Plan the time you will spend on each thing.
How To Plan 7. Look for conflicts and opportunities in your plan.

Tips! • Include specific numerical goals • Break out specific time allocations for each activity – including prep. time • Prioritize (daily, weekly, monthly) • Use your plan to figure out what you realistically can expect to get done. Delegate the rest. • Use your plan every day! • Stick to it, update it, evaluate it
