Who created it The founders are Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight. Phil met Bill on 1959 at the University of Oregon where Phil made a major in Bussiness and Bill were an athlete coach.
Where does its name come from? The company takes its name from “niké”, the greek goddes of victory.
Other brands and Sponsorships Nike markets its products under its own brand, as well as Nike Golf, Nike Pro, Nike+, Air Jordan, Nike Skateboarding. Nike also sponsors famous tennis players as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, basketball players as Michael Jordan and soccer players as Cesc Fabregas.
