  5. ATTENDANCE In order to participate in the commencement ceremony, seniors cannot have more than14 FULL-day absences during the year. Students with 3 or moreUNEXCUSED absences from any one period during a semester may be deemed ineligible to participate in extracurricular activities ‘(No-Go List)’

  13. Additional Requirements for Private/Out of State Universities: Many requireLETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION from both teachers and counselors. It is mandatory for you to complete a BRAG SHEET located online at the COLLEGE CAREER SITE. WE MAY NOT KNOW YOUR BACKGROUND DO NOTSubmit an email requesting a transcript without checking with the counselor first. Common Application - submit your teacher/counselor’s email address and we will submit your official transcript and a letter of recommendation. VERIFY we have received the common application request by stopping by OUR OFFICE to ask. *** WHICH COLLEGE YOU DECIDE TO ATTEND The common app requires us to submit a final transcript to just ONE campus! -

PRIVATE / OUT-OF-STATE COLLEGES CON’T… **Please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for letters of recommendation to be written.  ABRAG SHEET will need to be submitted to counselors and teachers (located on school website) NEW:Be forewarned, if a student DOES NOT provide a Counselor the aforementioned amount of time common app allows a Counselor to click a box stating: ‘’Counselor did not have enough time to upload a comprehensive letter.” (We prefer to write the letter so please be “self-guided achievers” 2015!) Make sure to keep up with multiple deadlines that may be part of the application process for private and out of state universities. Obtain a CSS Profile Form online at www.collegeboard.org. The form can be accessed as early as October 1st

  17. Early Decisionvs. EarlyAction EarlyDecision–You can only apply to one university because it is a CONTRACT and the acceptance is binding. EarlyAction – Send in your application earlier and they give you an answer earlier. The acceptance is not binding Single Choice EarlyAction—You can apply to other non-binding early admission universities. (usually receive a response by DEC.1st)

SAT Subject Tests Literature (AP English Prep) US History World History Math 1 – Geometry & Algebra 2 (not accepted by the UC’s, but may be accepted by other universities) Math 2 – Geometry – Trigonometry Biology Chemistry Physics French – 3-4 years of high school recommended Japanese – 2-4 years Spanish- 3-4 years Language test with listening only available in Nov. Cost $26.00 Some private colleges still require the SAT II’s. Check individual colleges for their admissions requirement.

  21. SAT/ACTEXAM FEE WAIVERS Fee waivers are available at the College Career Center for those that qualify. Please bring a Free/Reduced Lunch printout from Food Services as proof of qualification or a copy of your parent’s current income tax forms. See Mrs. Valverde for the fee waiver codes.

  22. Applying to a Community College There are 112 Community Colleges In California. To attend a community college full time you must meet the following requirements: • Have graduated from high school, or are 18 years of age or older, OR • Are 16 years of age or older and submit your “Student Score Report” for passing the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) COST:It is FREE to apply to any California Community College.   24. Stay 2015 !!! • Don’t get SENIORITIS!!! • Colleges/Trade Schools DO ask for your final grades and often times your admission will be dependent upon the SUCCESSFUL (C or better) completion of your coursework. • Do your best… no matter the course you take…your hard work WILL pay off!!
