Universal Design for Learning • UDL is a set of principles for curriculum development that give all individuals equal opportunities to learn. • UDL provides a blueprint for creating instructional goals, methods, materials, and assessments that work for everyone--not a single, one-size-fits-all solution but rather flexible approaches that can be customized and adjusted for individual needs.
Language Arts • Chapter and higher level books • Higher level comprehension questions and packets • Literature Circles • Differentiated vocabulary and homework • Spelling: challenge words relating to units • Exploring projects more deeply • Accelerated Reader Program • Writing
Math • Everyday Math Curriculum: challenge games • Online Math Activities • Real life application through projects • Peer teaching • Higher grade level skills links/differentiated activities • Writing about math strategies/problem solving
