Background Council and ISO members have highlighted the need to increase involvement from the “next generation” and have pointed to the increased average age of experts on ISO standards committees Need to make link between standards and education (at primary and secondary levels as well as university level) and the need for youth to be aware of the value of standards in addressing global economic, environmental and societal sustainability issues
Background Analysis of programmes and experiences of other organizations to help shape ISO’s initiatives for the younger generation: • IEC, ITU • ISO Members: ANSI, DIN, SA, SABS, SCC • IEEE, ASTM • WTO, OECD, World Bank, United Nations, World Economic Forum

Making the organization relevant for the future, making us sustainable ISO's committees with many very experienced experts, familiar with their fields and the ISO system.
