Homework 1. Look up on the internet, the Thayer Method. Know it and be able to do it for next class 2. Read Chapter 1. Be prepared to team teach using the Thayer Method any three to five sections contained in chapter 1 3. First five vocab words are to be defined and ready for some sort of quiz on Friday. 1.Carrying Capacity 2.Eutrophication 3. The Clean Water Act of 1972 4. Ecosystem 5. Barometric Pressure

About the class • The purpose of the class is to prepare you to sit for the AP exam in May. • This is a college level class, meaning this is the type of work load that you could expect when you enter college. • Essay assignment – We will be discussing energy. Gas is at $3.71 nationally. Need to discuss other options.
Essay • What is President Obama’s Energy Plan? Write it down • If you do not know for sure, then what do think his plan is? Write it down • Due on Friday – What did he campaign on for his re-election? What did he campaign on for his election in 2008?
Where was this all from? • Where did I find President Obama’s plans? • Are they do-able? How would you know? • Look at other sources to confirm such as the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) which is a non-partisan organization that crunches numbers & budgets.
