EU – Egypt Association Agreement • entered into force on 1 June 2004 • reciprocal tariff liberalisation for industry and agriculture • lower tariff rates and increased quotas for certain products • EU goods exports to Egypt 2009: €12.6 billion • EU goods imports from Egypt 2009: €6.5 billion
EU – Egypt Association Agreement (cont.) • Egyptian agricultural products: no customs duties or equivalent other charges and no quotas • Egyptian agricultural products: no customs duties within quotas for agricultural and processed agricultural and fishery products and higher quotas, extended calendars and duty reduction outside the calendar.
