What was the “treaty of the meter”? • A document signed by 17 nations on may 20 1875. It established the weights and lengths of the improved metric system.
How was the length of the standard meter defined in 1791? • The meter was to be equal to 1/10,000,000th of the length of the earths meridian along a quadrant through Paris that is the distance from the equator to the north pole.
