  2. Money • Buying and selling took place by trading and bartering. • Clay tokens were used as money and were very rare and of great value.

  3. Clothing and Jewelry for Men • Men wore poofy skirts. • Men were clean-shaven or had long hair with a beard. • Men wore jewelry • Rich men wore clothing that was decorated with shells, flowers, and animal skins.

  4. Clothing and Jewelry for Women • Women wore gowns that did not cover their right shoulder. • When entertaining, women wore headdresses. • Women wore their hair braided and wrapped around their head. • Women wore jewelry.

  5. Rights of Men • Head of household • Could divorce wife by saying, “You are not my wife.” • Divorce was considered a horrible act and was uncommon. • If the husband needed crops, he could rent or sell his wife or children for up to three years.

  6. Rights of Women • Women could buy or sell land. • Could run a business • Could buy or sell slaves
