PLAN ON THE 4TH FISHING WORLD CUP AUSTRALIA 2008 (DRAFT) ◆GUIDLINE OF THE TOURNAMENT◆ • Purpose: By organizing the Fishing World Cup 2008, the global celebration • for the 500 million fishing loving people, this event aims at enhancing • the skills and methods of angling through the cultural exchange of • sport fishing among the nations of the world, in the hope of achieving • the worldwide acknowledgment of fishing as a legitimate sport. • It is further to serve the realization of world peace. 2. Host and Host country : Host : World Sports Fishing Federation Sponsorship: World Sport Fishing Federation Oceania Inc 3. Participating nations: 40 member states 4. Tournament Categories: Boat Fishing and Rock Fishing
5.Date: August 22 ~ 26, 2008 6. Schedule: August 22 Day1 : Reception, Welcome Ceremony and Opening Session August 23 Day2 : Trial Fishing and Preliminary Match August 24 Day3 : Semi-finals and Finals August 25 Day4 : Sight-seeing and Free time/ Award Ceremony Closing Session August 26 Day5 : Return 7. Venue: Gold Coast, Australia 8. Participants: Each country should select and send the players within the numbers allocated by the FWC Administration Office. ① Boat Fishing ② Rock Fishing. Three players in all over 2 categories
9. Applications: 1) Please submit the Application Forms before March 15, 2008. 2) The following documents should be sent in before April 15, 2008. ① Complementary Message from the Continental Representative (in English) ② Addresses of WSFF office and General Secretary of each participating country (Tel/Fax number, E-mail address) ③Player’s name list and photos with Contact address, Tel/Fax number, E-mail address and Passport number (in English) ④Arrival schedule in Australia (Date, Airport, Flight & Time) 10. Expense: Host country will be responsible for the overall cost of event, food, lodging, and sight-seeing. But, the players and officials are asked to pay US$100 each as the participation fee. 11. The Study Report on the venue of The 4th Fishing World Cup Australia 2008
1. Venue of Event 1000km to the north from Sydney lies the Gold Coast, the venue of the 4th Fishing World Cup Australia, which is famous for its 42km splendid golden shore. It stands off one hour drive from Brisbane, and offers the most ideal ground for the Fishing World Cup, with no typhoon and an array of sport fishing facilities.
2. The 1st Preparatory Meeting ① Budget, scales and schedules for the event were discussed and agreed upon. ② Reports on the accommodations and the event halls. ③ A study tour was made on the fishing ground, accommodations and event halls.
3. The 3rd Preparatory Meeting The guidelines of the 4th Event were reviewed and discussed.
4. Study tour on the accommodations and event halls ① Tallebudgera Leisure center run by the Queensland county ② It is located nearby the seashore and able to accommodate over 1000 guests. ③ There are number of rooms for various activities and gymnastic hall for the Opening and Closing Sessions.
5. Boat Fishing The point of departure for Boat Fishing is Marina Mirage, 20-nimute drive from the center. It is the ideal port for the Event, where Good Go Fishing Charters centers its operation.
6. Rock Fishing 30-minute drive southward from the Center takes us to the Rock Fishing tournament site. It is located on the southern tip of Queensland County, nearby the border with NSW County. Here, the species of fishes are plentiful and the stable footholds offer the ideal Rock Fishing ground.
