A form of school based professional learning and reflective practice which integrates the most effective learning about best practice Coaching is teachers talking and acting in a purposeful way with the goal of continuously improving their teaching practice A Coach is a key listener & observer who asks questions, makes observations & offers suggestions that help teachers to reflect and grow on their teaching and learning practices What Is Coaching ?
The Coaching Initiative • Provides one-to-one coaching for teachers in classrooms • Focuses on building the capacity of teachers rather than intervention with students • Aims to increase student learning outcomes • Builds sustainable practice in schools • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement in our school

Coaching Is About … • Building relationships and trust • It’s a learning journey for principals, teachers, students and coaches • Coaches working differently with every teacher –flexibly and responsively • Increasing student learning outcomes • Being a collegiate learning partner where the relationship is even and there is both giving and receiving
