The audience is unaware they have a problem or don’t know how to solve it. The idea becomes reality and everyone is better off. The audience sees how tough making the change will be but the speaker has a useful idea or tool to give them. Seeing some positive results, they try one final time to push the idea forward. The speaker shares a unique idea with the audience but they are skeptical and afraid. Call to Adventure Success Known Refusal of the Call Resurrection Cross the Threshold Even though they consider giving up, they start to see some benefit from their efforts. Crossing the Threshold Audience decides to jump in and commit to the idea. Reward The speakers job is to convince the audience to commit to crossing the threshold and adopting his/her perspective. The Innermost Cave and Ordeal Work to Change Begins Unknown Despite their determination, it hasn’tquite worked out as they had hoped. Work begins but people and things oppose the effort to change. The speakers job is to convince the audience that their commitment will be tested and that they may need to renew their loyalty to the idea over and over before it is reality.
