Reasons for Italy’s changing employment structure • Mechanisation of farming • An increase in the population’s leisure time • Mechanisation of factories • An increase in international tourism into Italy • An increase in computer technology factories • Cheaper goods imported from abroad where labour is cheaper • Farming jobs are hard work and poorly paid so people seek alternative jobs • Government policy is to increase the tourist industry to bring money into Italy • Small farms merge to form large ones Choose the correct reasons why that industry has changed over time.
