    3. The Tenth Life Cat Care & Adoption Center What is a no-kill facility? Do not put cats to sleep unless terminally ill to prevent suffering When started Nov 1984 with one building and 81 cats Why started Need Dissatisfaction with other organizations

The Tenth Life Cat Care & Adoption Center Purpose To provide a home environment to adoptable stray and unwanted cats until suitable home can be found To provide a permanent home to unadoptable cats, ill, feral, leukemia or AIDs positive To educate people on responsible pet ownership, importance of spaying/neutering, respect of animals, etc. To reduce the over-population problem of cats

    5. The Tenth Life Cat Care & Adoption Center Growth Facility mortgage free after 15 years One building to five in twenty years – all connected All construction with donations – no interest accruing funding Full-time veterinarian Fully equipped health care facility 81 to over 400 cats

The Tenth Life Cat Care & Adoption Center How funded Fundraisers - 8% of funding Entertainment books ( need retail stores - sell books) Mehaffie’s pies – Easter/Thanksgiving/Christmas Flower and vegetable sale $3.00 donation Raffles Penny fund Recycling of aluminum Christmas wreaths, roping, and plants Craft shows, festivals, bazaars

The Tenth Life Cat Care & Adoption Center Private donations – 30% of funding CFC/United Way – 46% of funding Adoption fee – 15% of funding Sponsor program(187 cats) – 1% of funding All funding used for care of cats, no paid staff except veterinarian Cost of operation Nearly $100,000 annually
