But did God keep his promise? • Compare 21:43-45 with 13:1-5????? • Some of God’s promises are conditional • There is a tension between an ideal ‘not yet’ and an on the ground ‘now’ • Some of God’s promises need more careful interpretation.
Joshua and Jesus – trusting the promises of the new covenant • For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. (2 Cor 1:20) • So we trust God’s promises by following God’s appointed leader (Jesus!).
