  5. Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasureMingling toil with peace and rest

  6. Ev’ry day the Lord Himself is near meWith a special mercy for each hour

  7. All my cares He fain would bear and cheer meHe whose nameis Counselor and Pow’r

  8. The protectionof His child and treasureIs a charge that on Himself He laid

  9. As thy days, thy strengthshall be in measureThis the pledge to me He made

  10. Help me then in ev’ry tribulationSo to trust Thy promises, O Lord

  11. That I losenot faith’s sweet consolationOffered me within Thy holy Word

  12. Help me, Lordwhen toil and trouble meetingE’er to take, as from a father’s hand

  13. One by one, the daysthe moments fleetingTill I reach the Promised Land
