Scored lower for education, and arranged employment) British ancestry: favoured by the government during times of war. Would have been viewed as desirable. Collective rights: Speaks English as do the majority of immigrants that come to Canada. This could contribute to a feeling of resentment from official language groups (Francophone) as well as go against the AFN’s resolution (if it had existed back then) that immigrants were using up valuable resources that First Nations people need! Settled first in Thunder Bay, Ontario But later settled in Calgary, Alberta Immigrated from Great Britain-Middlesbrough, England Economic Immigrant – An entrepreneur Economic - Created employment opportunities for otherCanadians. Paid taxes. Purchased a home.Society – Raised a family and followed Canadian laws.Culture – contributed to ourunderstanding and appreciation ofpeople from different parts of the world. Fought in WWII. Had a sonthat played in the Canadian Philharmonic Orchestra (Brass Section) Came to Canada in 1965
