Chapter 17 SONET/SDH. SDH 는 광케이블 기반의 전송망에서 사용하기 위하여 만든 전송 계위이다 . 기존의 비동기식 ( 혹은 유사 동기식 ) 전송 계위 보다 개선된 방식이다 . 완전 동기화 OAM 기능의 강화 기존의 비동기식 전송 신호도 수용. 동기식 전송 계위 (SDH). SONET 은 미국의 Bellcore 에서 만든어서 현재 미국에서 사용하는 동기식 전송 계위이다 . 후에 SONET 방식을 국제 표준으로 만든 것이 SDH 이다 .
