CNH KEY CLUB • Student Led service organization for elementary school students • Objectives: • To provide opportunities to working together in service to school and community. • To develop leadership potential. • To foster and development of strong moral character. • Sponsored by a local Kiwanis Club • Motto: “We Build.” K-Kids 2010 - 2011

CNH KEY CLUB • A student recognition program that promotes character development, self esteem, and perseverance. • Students work to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance, or schoolwork. • A sponsoring club helps support the Terrific Kids Program in the school. • Provides teachers a tool to reward students for special achievements.   5. CNH KEY CLUB • A program designed to recognize students who raise their grades to an acceptable range. Recognition includes schools BUG Honor Roll; a food-themed party and etc. • A sponsoring club helps support the BUG Program in the school. • The teacher establishes a base line grade for each student during the first grading period. • This program can be adapted to work with any grading system. CNH KEY CLUB • The largest service organization for middle school students. • A “student-led” community service organization that operates under school regulations. • Motto: Building leaders • Vision: To develop competent, capable, caring leaders through service. • Mission: provides member with opportunities to perform service, build character, and develop leadership. • Core Values: Character building, Leadership, Inclusiveness, and caring.   7. CNH KEY CLUB • Kiwanis International’s leadership education program for students. Its mission is to provide a “life-changing experience that inspires young people to achieve their personal best through service leadership. • A line-up of workshops, lectures and team building activities takes place over the course of the weekend. • Key Leader builds: • Personal Integrity, Personal growth, Respect, Building Community, Pursuit of Excellence.   8. CNH KEY CLUB • 32nd District of Key Club International (KCI). • Located in California, Nevada, and Hawaii. • Performs service deeds to improve schools and communities. • Over 50 clubs with approximately 2,500 members and still growing. KIWIN’S 2010 - 2011

  9. CNH KEY CLUB • 450 colleges in 17 nations. • Circle K International (CKI) is the premiere university service organization in the world sponsored by Kiwanis International. • Based upon the tenets of service, leadership, and fellowship. Circle K 2010 - 2011

CNH KEY CLUB • A Kiwanis sponsored club present only in Europe and is almost the same as a Kiwanis club, only aimed at younger adults (18- 35). • Kiwanis Junior is a source of continuation through the Kiwanis family. It provides a foundation for becoming a Kiwanian. Kiwanis Junior 2010 - 2011

CNH KEY CLUB • George D. “Jake” Swartout, 1988-89 Governor of the Florida District, organized the first Aktion Club, for adults who live with a disability, in Putnam County, Florida in 1987. • Mission: develop initiative and leadership skills; serve their community; integrate into society, dignity and value of citizens living with disabilities. • Objects: primacy to the human and spiritual; encourage living of the Golden Rule; promote higher business, professional, and social standards; build better communities; and create and maintain public opinion and high idealism. CNH KEY CLUB • Organization of service clubs headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, and made up of approximately 8,600 clubs in 96 countries with over 586,000 adult members. • A global organization of members of every age who are dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. • Kiwanis and UNICEF join forces to implement the ELIMINATE project. • The Eliminate project will deliver vaccines to protect mothers and babies from tetanus. • Over the next 5 years, Kiwanis International will raise $110 million. CNH KEY CLUB • The Kiwanis Service Initiative is observed worldwide in April - Kiwanis One Day. • Every club is encouraged to join with every level of the Kiwanis Family for a day of united service. • This event was inspired by Past International President, Nelson Tucker’s initiative. • Kiwanis One Day provides an opportunity to showcase the Kiwanis family and our commitment to service in each community. • Every club follows a plan, which includes tips on forming a committee, selecting a project, motivation and incentives, and a template news release to inform the news media.   15. CNH KEY CLUB • In 1965, the Klamath River caused a flood in Northern California, and wiped out the town of Klamath. Every member of the Kiwanis club lost his home or business, or both. • This tragedy gave the motive to establish a District Foundation. • In 1980, Dr. Forror (Dgov79-80) asked permission to create a Sponsored Youth Scholarship Fund, which was approved at the 60th annual Kiwanis DCON. This is the scholarship that those in Circle K, Key Club and KIWIN’S can apply for today. • In 1994, the Foundation developed the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP), and in 2004, it was expand with the Kiwanis Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship, a.k.a., the “Kiwanis Doctor.” CNH Foundation History 2010 - 2011

CNH KEY CLUB • Main focus of the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation. • Mission: “To develop local projects, which will reduce the number of children in our District who are injured by trauma.” • The Foundation has partnered with six hospitals to provide funding to train pediatric doctors, nurses and first responders, to purchase much-needed pediatric medical equipment and to create or expand community outreach programs. • Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) Grants - Available to Kiwanis and SLP clubs to assist with financing new PTP service projects on a start-up basis. CNH KEY CLUB • Our “Kiwanis Doctor” travels throughout our District teaching doctors, nurses and first responders how to treat a pediatric patient. • Since 2004, the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation has pledged $384,000 to provide for a doctor to be trained in pediatric emergency medicine. • The goal is to save the life of every child. CNH KEY CLUB • There are many service projects that you can do to help the Pediatric Trauma Program. • Sponsor a bicycle rodeo, child safety fair, or child safety seat inspection event. • Purchase and distribute bicycle helmets, child safety seats, electric outlet covers, choke tubes, and etc. • Educate parents about common dangers found around the home. • Distribute dolls to children’s hospitals to comfort children.   20. CNH KEY CLUB • Established in 1985 as a means to honor William A. Dunlap, Past Governor of the Cal-Nev-Ha District and the first President of the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation. • William A. Dunlap members receive a plaque, medallion, lapel pin and personalized banner patch. • Diamond-level status is attained by Dunlap Fellows who make additional $1,000 contributions. • Clubs, divisions, or individuals may purchase a Dunlap to present to an individual. A donor may designate 50% of the contribution to be directed to a current program of the Foundation, such as Pediatric Trauma Program, SLP scholarships, or Unrestricted funds. William A. CNH KEY CLUB • Any Key Club member who is a senior may apply for a scholarship from the Foundation. • Scholarships range from $750 to thousands of dollars. • Interested seniors complete one application to be considered for the Forror, McElwain, Prada, Vincent, Muggelberg and Lofthouse scholarships. • Key Leader Scholarships (available to any Builder’s Club or Key Club member). • Go to cnhkeyclub.org for more information.
