  3. Which small grant is right for my project? Our project’s focus is Developing new ideas or new ways of working Investing in Ideas Improving community, sports or arts activities/new organisations Awards for All Engaging new people in sports or physical activity 2014 Communities

  4. Small grantsproject costs • £300 to £10,000 (£2,000 2014 Communities) • three programmes • one stage application process • broad outcomes – community benefit • Up to 6 weeks response time • No match funding required • Priorities but not exclusions Investing in Ideas

  5. From £10,000 – £50,000 • Only for third sector organisations • one stage application process • decision within 8 weeks • focused on 8-24 year olds • Confident, healthy, connected, enterprising • No match funding required • Making the best use of local assets

  6. Confident – Children and young people have more confidence and skills • Healthy – Children and young people have better physical, mental and emotional health • Connected – Younger and older generations are better connected and have more understanding and respect for each other • Enterprising – Young people are better prepared for getting a job or starting a business

  7. Communities & Families Fund • Local projects to help families and communities give children (pre-birth to 8 years) the best start in life • £250 - £10,000 • Outcomes: • Improve quality of life of children through access to learning, play and maternal health support • Enable communities shape and deliver support for families

  8. Communities & Families Fund • Who can apply? • voluntary/community orgs, community councils, statutory bodies (not schools) • Priorities: • organisations with a smaller annual income • strong element of community involvement • smaller projects
