Policies being implemented: • LAC-2009-08 Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Policy for Allocation of ASN Blocks (ASNs) to Regional Internet Registries (First policy approved by the expedite process of the New PDP)
Policies under discussion(until now …) • LAC-2007-01 Modification of the IPv6 Block Announcement Policy • LAC-2008-05 IPv6 Micro-Assignments • LAC-2009-04 Transfer of IPv4 Blocks within the LACNIC Region • LAC-2009-09 Modification: 2.3.3.3. Direct Allocations to Internet Service Providers
Engineering Projects • Resources Certification (RPKI) • In Coordination with other RIRs • Beta RPKI system for members to be launched at LACNIC XIII • DNS Platform Upgrade / DNSSEC deployment • Getting ready for DNSSEC deployment. Already signed lacnic.org and programafrida.org domains • Getting ready for larger amount or requests • New Registry System (EPP) • Additional method to submit information to LACNIC • LACNIC provides some development libraries • NIRs
IPv6 Tour 2009 • 11 Countries visited: TT, AN, DO, PA, PE, BO, EC, CO, PY, BZ, NI
AMPARO Project • Provides training and promotes the creation of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) • Partners: LACNIC and IDRC (Canada) • Activities: • To develop training materials (Creation and Management of CSIRT) • Training of trainers • Training of technicians • To promote Research and identification of BPM • Feasibility study for a Regional CERT • First Workshop for trainers (Feb/23-27) • www.proyectoamparo.net/en

Public affairs • As member of CITEL (Org. of American States) we organized a workshop on “Interconnection at low cost” (Bariloche, Sep. ’09) • IGF4: 2 workshops organized: “Managing Internet Addresses” and “Public policies for interconnection at low cost” • eLAC2010 – update of the regional plan for Information Society development • LACNIC GWG – representatives from 17 governments (2 meetings, 3rd in Curazao)
