About Poole Foyer A service for young people in Poole Town Centre: • Young people aged between 16 and 25. • Young Families with up to 2 children. • Empowering Young People to use their talents and strengths to find their own future.
Summary of the Role To work as part of a team to provide a high quality housing and support service to the residents of the Foyer and to promote a customer service culture within the service. You will be supporting residents of the Foyer using a Strengths Based approach in all aspects of maintaining their accommodation; Employment, Education and Training; to overcome any disadvantage they face; to belong and to contribute to their communities (now and in the future); and to thrive! To constantly improve standards and services and ensure service users are engaged in the running of the project. What are we looking for? The successful candidate will have/be; Proven experience of working with young people within a similar role, with a knowledge of Homelessness and the impact on young people. Demonstrable experience of partnership working with specialist agencies such as mental health team, youth offending services. Working knowledge of housing and benefits advice. A natural relationship builder with the ability to motivate, influence and inspire your clients. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt your approach depending on your audience and required outcome. The ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities at any one time. Methodical with highly developed organisation and prioritisation skills combined with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines. The ability to demonstrate a supportive approach to vulnerable young people maintaining dignity and respect. A comprehensive understanding of professional boundaries together with a high level of personal integrity The ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to Equality and Diversity and works in a manner that is inclusive. Proven experience in an area of specialism such as domestic abuse, offending, substance misuse, mental health, plus numerate and literate to GCSE standard or equivalent. IT literate and able to use basic Word and Excel. Due to the nature of the role you will be flexible in your approach. Working hours are on a 7 day rota, which would include, bank holidays, evenings, week-ends and days. Able to take part in an on call rota, providing cover to the service 24 hours a day and able to respond to the Foyer within 1 hour.
The Package Salary £19,763 pa. Additional payment for on-call service. Pension Scheme – up to 7% matched. Non-contractual/consolidated performance bonus scheme of up to 5% of salary after a qualifying period. 26 days annual leave plus credit for bank holidays – our schemes are staffed 365 days a year on a rota basis.
