  2. Review What is mental mapping? Can you give me 3 examples of when you have made a mental map? Why would your parents draw a more accurate mental map of Tulsa than you?

  3. Mrs. Brown’s Scary Story: Listen and visualize

  4. Your story needs: • A beginning, middle and end (for example do not start with you running from a monster) • Prepositions to describe where you are going in the school, write so that listeners can imagine your path • Descriptive DETAILS to make it screamin’ good! • A CLIFF HANGER ENDING!

  5. Walk through the school • You are looking for details around the school you could include in your story (for example the exit sign, the artwork in the halls, the bathrooms, etc) • You are going to try to mentally map the school areas you are ‘hazy’ on • Bring a clip board, pencil and paper

  6. Remember! Your story needs: • A beginning, middle and end • To describe where you are going in the school • Descriptive DETAILS • A cliff hanger ending  • To BE APPROPRIATE! (nonviolent, nonmean, nongross)

  7. Do not forget, we will be trying to map where you go in the school.Include a path through it. That is the most important part of this assignment.
