Community Change FrameworkThe Wheel of Action The first wealth is health. -Ralph Waldo Emerson • By August 2014, the leadership team will recruit at least 10 community members to participate in an advocacy network. • By Sept, 2014, the leadership team will activate at least 2 times, an advocacy network by which community members will vocally and/or in writing support the plan. Mobilization

Community Change FrameworkThe Wheel of Action Advocacy with Decision Makers Leading to Mobilization By July 2014, the LT advocate to and recruit at least 7 organization decision makers to take actions that demonstrate support for the plan • By August 2014, at least 1 school and PTO will help initiate one safe route school project. • By Oct. 2014, at least 5 organizational decision makers (i.e, local health agencies, bicycle clubs, nonprofits, neighborhood groups, local business and employers) will advocate through outreach, incentives, walking/biking support groups and the organization and promotion of events.

  6. Community Change FrameworkThe Wheel of Action Educating GovernmentPolicy Makers • By November 2014, the leadership team and city officials will establish a steering committee of local officials/staff and community volunteers to review progress with the plan and inform and get public feedback.

Community Change FrameworkThe Wheel of Action Community Education Earned Media • By June 2014, the leadership team will develop and distribute to at least 3 media outlets,  a “press kit” of stories, photos, quotes that communicate the vision of the bike/ped plan. • By November 2014, at least 3 newspaper articles will be published sharing the vision, story and progress of the bike/ped plan.
