INTRODUCTION • The vision of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Online Church, as given to our Father-in-the-Lord, our able General Overseer, is based on the words of this Scripture in Daniel chapter 12, verse 4 which says knowledge shall be increased. • The Online Church is meant to use all available modern technology to reach the unreached all over the world. • One of such means is live internet streaming. DEFINITIONS What is Streaming? • Data streaming, commonly seen in the forms of audio and video streaming, is when a multimedia file can be played back without being completely downloaded first. • To broadcast (an event) on the internet as it happens. • An act or instance of flowing. • Method of transmitting a media file in a continuous stream of data that can be processed by the receiving computer before the entire file has been completely sent. STREAMING WORKFLOWS • System Requirements • Quad Core CPU • 4GB RAM • 1000Kbps upload bandwidth (minimum) • Dedicated video card, 512MB VRAM • Latest Operating Software The Art of Live Internet Streaming
STREAMING WORKFLOWS • A Video Source This can be anything from a Webmcam, to a VTR/VCR-like equipment or professional grade video camera connected to a capture card. video cameras and a vision mixer Different types of video capture devices The Art of Live Internet Streaming
STREAMING WORKFLOWS A Video Source Contd. Note: • Cable from your video source to the capture device • Cable connectors from video source to the capture card The Art of Live Internet Streaming
STREAMING WORKFLOWS • Live Encoder A Live encoder is a hardware/software capable of compressing the video source, in real-time, and send the compressed video to a media server in a specific format, using a specific protocol. Example of live encoder software: Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder: A basic and FREE encoder. Very good video quality encoding. The Art of Live Internet Streaming

STREAMING WORKFLOWS • A Media Server or CDN The media server is a software that installs on a dedicated server and it is optimized/specialized in "serving" media content to the end users, through a WebTV (for example). The media server takes the compressed video supplied by the live encoder and broadcast it to the users. A CDN (Content Delivery Network) is like a HUGE media server solution that is far more capable than a single dedicated server (it is not cheap...) and offers the possibility to serve virtually unlimited number of simultaneous users. STREAMING WORKFLOWS • When should you use a CDN? If the number of users that visit your WebTV is small, you probably don´t need a CDN. But if your WebTV receives lots of daily visits (which is very good...), it is possible to have many simultaneous users connected at the same time. This situation causes a real problem to your server, because it is not able to satisfy all the requests and to serve all the requested video files at the required speed, thus causing playback interruptions and affecting the user experience. • What are the advantages of a CDN? At the contrary of a conventional hosting, where there is only one computer that serves the files and could collapse once reached its full capacity, a CDN is made up of several servers (hundreds or thousands in some cases) connected to different points of a global network. Each server in a CDN contains a copy of the files and in the moment a file is requested, it is served from the nearest, available, server of the network respect the user; this allows that, for example, a video file can be played back by a virtually unlimited number of users, simultaneously, depending on the capacity of the CDN. For the case of live broadcasts (Webcasts) the video stream is distributed using the same criteria as video on demand files. The Art of Live Internet Streaming

STREAMING WORKFLOWS • What Causes Internet Buffering? Internet buffering is mostly occurs when a person is streaming a video from the internet. It is caused by two factors. The first factor is that the item you are streaming is ripped at a bit rate which is much slower than your stream setting. The other factor is that you may have a slow internet connection and to provide a continuous feed the media file has to be buffered. The Art of Live Internet Streaming
