  1. Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre CZEPOS – a Multipurpose Positioning System for the Czech Republic Oldřich Pašek – Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre Jan Řezníček – Land Survey Office Jakub Kostelecký – Research Institute of Geodesy, Topography and Cartography

  2. CZEPOS • CZEPOS - an active network of permanent GNSS stations in the Czech Republic • built up by the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre and its organizations • Land Survey Office • Research Institute of Geodesy, Topography and Cartography European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  3. Objectives • to foster the implementation of GNSS techniques in the Czech Republic • to support a broad spectrum of GNSS based applications in positioning and navigation • to economize precise geodetic surveying and to bring better comfort to surveyors • to harmonize the national geodetic infrastructure with the EU countries and to facilitate the implementation of ETRS European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  4. Benefits for Users • Navigation community:CZEPOS enables the user with a simple receiver to make a real time positioning with an accuracy of some decimeters • Surveying and geodetic community:CZEPOS enables to speed-up and to economize precise geodetic measurements (one geodetic receiver is sufficient) European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  5. Services and Products • Real-time services: • additional information from the reference station for DGNSS (differential GNSS) • RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) using VRS (Virtual Reference Station) - a combined solution based on the data from several reference stations when the user is provided with a software generated additional information from a near-by virtual reference station • RTK using FKP (Flächenkorrekturparameter - Areal Correction Parameters) - a software generated additional information from a reference station is extended by correction parameters that enable to use it even at longer distances from the reference station • Post-processing products: • data files for further processing European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  6. Products for Navigation • Navigation community is mainly interested in a real-time DGPS service • DGPS service (like other real-time services) will be provided • through a phone link via ISDN Router – supposingthat the user has an access to a GSM operator • through the internet - supposing availability of a mobile phone GPRS option; the user can connect via internet to the access server and get necessary data in the Ntrip format European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  7. Network Structure • 26 stations communicating with three mutually linked to 3 central servers • servers are located at the Land Survey Office • 22 stations are located at cadastral offices • 4 external stations are operated by academic institutions through the VESOG network European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  8. Distribution of Stations red - operated by cadastral offices, green - operated by academic institutions European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  9. Hardware and Software • Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre put out a public tender in May 2004  receivers Leica GRX 1200 Pro, antennas Leica AT504 Choke Ring • External stations  receivers Ashtech, Topcon • absolute antenna calibration • station control + data for post-processing  Leica Software Spider • real-time services  software GNSMART of Geo++ Company European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  10. Implementation Plan I • 6 stations have been operational since December 2004 (Pardubice, Svitavy, Jihlava, Dačice, Tábor, Příbram). European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  11. Implementation Plan II • software GNSMART currently being installed  launch of real-time services and post-processing products from the first six stations • further 11 stations will be set into operation in 2005 • complete network will be finished in 2006 European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  12. CZEPOS and EUPOS • Organizations of the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre participate in the EUPOS (European Positioning System) project directed towards establishment GNSS permanent networks in the Central- and East European countries - see a special presentation on this topic • Incorporation of CZEPOS into EUPOS will be possible by necessary SW and HW extension and upgrade following from the introduction of the new European GNSS system GALILEO European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  13. Conclusions • CZEPOS is a part of a new geodetic infrastructure for referencing spatial geoinformation • more information: http://czepos.cuzk.cz/ (in Czech) European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005

  14. Thank you for your attention European Meeting of the International Information Sub-Committee of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee. Czech Technical University, Prague, March 14-15, 2005
