School Times • Early bird club starts at 8:00 • School gates open at 8:30 • Doors open 8:45 • Children in class at 8:55 • Break time at 10:45 • Lunch at 12:45 • School day ends at 3:05
Attendance and Punctuality • Attendance We strive for 100% attendance and rewards are given for this. Please make every effort to help us reach our attendance goal. • Punctuality It is very important that your child is in class on time as learning begins immediately.
Medical • Medical- Miss Mills If your child requires special medication, please ask for a medical form which must be completed and returned to school with any medication. Any medical conditions the school should be aware of, please ensure that you request an appointment with the class teacher and Miss Mills.
Uniform • Uniform All children should now be wearing appropriate St Matthews Autumn Winter uniform. Please make sure your child has the appropriate footwear for school. • P.E P.E kit is essential for all P.E lessons. This is to ensure the health and safety of all our children. Please ensure that all uniforms and P.E kits are labelled clearly with your child’s name.
Lunch times • Lunch times There is a choice of hot meals provided for those who have them every day. We are a healthy eating school and parents are encouraged to follow this guidance when making their child’s packed lunch.
Reading • Reading books Your children have a great choice of reading material within their classrooms. We have a dedicated reading area where the children have free choice of books and a place to relax and read. • Guided Reading Your child takes part in guided reading sessions every day where they work in small groups led by the teacher. • Home Reading Your child has a home reading book along with a home reading record. Please listen to your child read as often as you can and comment in their home reading record.
