  2. About Him Jerry Rice was born in Starkville, Mississippi on October 13, 1962. His dad was a mason. He was fast and could catch very well.

  3. College In college he attended Mississippi Valley State University. He quickly became an outstanding WR. He got the nickname “World” because he could catch any ball thrown to him.   4. The NFL Jerry Rice was chosen by the 49ers. He played with the 49ers for 15 years before after the 2000 season Rice left the 49ers and signed a contract with the Oakland Raiders.
