Let’s echo read this passage. From “Mangia!” by Ira Rosofsky Italian cuisine is the most popular ethnic food in the United States, according to the National Restaurant Association. It is so much a part of our culture that we hardly think of it as ethnic at all. Everybody thinks that they know a great deal about Italian food. For example: • Marco Polo, an Italian, brought back spaghetti from China. • The Italians invented pizza. • Tomatoes have been a long-time staple of Italian cooking. All of these myths are wrong.
