  1. Know The Various Methods of Treating ADHD

  2. Neurofeedback training has shown to be a successful method of treating a wide variety of disorders. When done properly, Neurofeedback therapy can help reduce or eliminate the symptoms of ADD & ADHD, epilepsy, chronic pain, migraine headaches, depression, OCD, and other disorders. Neurofeedback therapy is also widely known as EEG Biofeedback. How the training works? Neurofeedback training is also known as neurofeedback therapy, a type of brain-training. It is a type of biofeedback or neurofeedback treatment that involves the use of a computer and headphones to monitor the activity of your brain. In these settings, you have monitored via electrodes hooked to your scalp, and the activity of your brain is recorded and measured as your brainwaves fluctuate.

  3. These fluctuations are then converted into commands which can help in curing or treating many brain-related disorders. These activities generally take place in a lab-like setting, although in the clinical setting, they may occur in your own home or office. While neurofeedback can greatly assist with many disorders, there are a couple of disorders that Neurofeedback Therapy specifically addresses. One is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which is also known as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Another is the sleep disorder narcolepsy. With neurofeedback, the goal is to teach your brain how to control your arousal levels so that you will not fall asleep during the day.

  4. The different methods used in Neurofeedback therapy Neurofeedback Therapy uses two main methods to address the needs of people with ADD & ADHD. The first method addresses the symptoms of ADHD through the teaching of self-control and improved impulse control. Through neurofeedback, the brain wave patterns of the person receiving the therapy will be observed to identify the areas of behavioral difficulties. After identifying the areas of difficulty, the therapist will then provide positive reinforcement, such as music, in order to further encourage the brain's reward pathways to help the person improve his or her behavior.

  5. The second method for addressing the behaviors related to ADHD is through the use of EEG biofeedback. This particular method addresses brain function by monitoring brain waves while the person is learning a new task. Once the brain activity rate has been determined, the software will teach the user how to increase or decrease the brain waves accordingly. Through this method, the ADHD patient will be able to control his or her brain function and enhance his or her mental abilities as well as the brain function of others. When using EEG biofeedback to treat ADHD, you will need to have specialized equipment in place. It should include a computer, a monitor, a video camera, a speaker and headphones.

  6. The third method that is used to address the symptoms of ADHD is through neurofeedback, which involves the use of an EEG cap. This cap will then be placed over the head of the person who will then undergo neurofeedback training. During the training, the individual will be trained to change his or her brain wave patterns in order to alter different brain wave patterns. Typically, the ADHD patient will go through four to six sessions during which time he or she will be taught how to control his or her brain wave activity with the use of electrodes. From there, the individual will be taught how to alter certain brain wave frequencies to help him or she achieves the desired result with regards to ADHD.
