  1. Major Reasons Biogas is the New Rage Bio-gas has become immensely popular over the last few years. There was always a need of an eco-friendly energy alternative and biogas filled that gap. It is not only eco-friendly, but also a convenient and cost-effective alternative of fuel. India being rich in biomass has a huge potential of 16,881 MW (agro-residues and plantations), about 5000 MW (bagasse cogeneration) and approx. 2500 MW (energy recovery from waste). It may interest you that every year biomass power generation industry in India attracts millions of dollars of investment in India. It generates employment like no other industry and produces electricity. Traditional biomass fuel such as fuel wood, animal dung and crop waste make for potential raw material for bio-gas generation. Biogas companies in India are able to offer employment to millions of people apart from providing an eco-friendly and cost effective energy alternative. Even biogas up gradation systems generate employment in ways more than one.
