  2. The First Camp The first Nazi concentration camp was KZ Dachau which opened on March, 22 1933 First inmates: political prisoners, Social Democrats, Communists, trade unionists, habitual criminals, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, beggars, vagrants, hawkers.

  3. Deaths In the years that the Nazis held power of Europe, 20,000 camps were set up.

  4. Numbers In six of the main camps, here are the number of deaths: Auschwitz: about 1,100,000 Treblinka: 700,000 to 800,000 Belzec: about 434,000 Sobibor: about 167,00-250,000 Chelmno: about 152,000 Majdanek: 78,000
